Custom chimney caps & chase covers.
Chase covers, flue caps, and chimney shrouds built to your measurements — single or multi-flue, in 24 ga steel and any color on our chart.
Fortified Metals builds custom chimney chase covers and caps in 24 ga painted or Galvalume steel, with sloped tops that shed water and drip edges on every side, sized to your chase and flues.
What we make
Built to your chase.
Store-bought covers come in a handful of sizes. Chimneys don't. We build to your measurements so the cover fits tight and sheds water.

- Spark screenScreened sides for wood-burning appliances
How to measure
- Chase top — outside length and width
- Skirt — how far down the sides you want it to hang
- Each flue — diameter and distance from two sides
- Flue height above the chase top
- A photo from above, if you can get one
Why covers fail
Most chase covers that rust through are thin, flat, and galvanized. Water sits on top, finds the seams, and runs down inside the chase.
A sloped top, heavier steel, a real drip edge, and a tight collar around each flue fix all four problems.

Questions
Common questions.
What is the difference between a chimney cap and a chase cover?
A chase cover is a metal panel that covers the whole top of a framed chimney chase, usually around a factory-built fireplace flue. A chimney cap sits over the flue itself to keep out rain, animals, and debris. Many chimneys need both, and we build both.
How do I measure for a chase cover?
Measure the outside length and width of the chase top, decide how far you want the skirt to hang down, and measure each flue's diameter and its distance from two sides of the chase. A photo from above helps.
Why do chase covers rust, and how do you prevent it?
Thin, flat galvanized covers hold standing water and rust through. We build in 24 ga painted or Galvalume steel with a sloped or crossbroken top so water runs off, and a drip edge so it drips clear of the chase siding.
Do you make caps for multi-flue chimneys?
Yes. We build covers for any number of flues, and shrouds that cover several flues at once, to your measurements.
Do chimney caps need a spark screen?
Many wood-burning chimneys need a spark arrestor screen, and building codes set limits on the mesh opening and the screen area. Tell us the type of appliance and we'll build to suit, then confirm with your local inspector.
Can you match the color of my roof?
Yes. Chase covers and caps are made from the same painted coil on our color chart as our roofing panels, or in Galvalume.
