We roll form your coil
Already have coil from Elevate, your supplier or your own yard? We bring a New Tech SSQ II roll former, an operator and the tooling, and form panels to your cut list on site.
Portable roll forming · Sherman & DFW
Fortified Metals brings portable standing seam roll forming to job sites across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. We form your coil or ours, cut every panel to length on site, and feed it straight to your crew.
Material
Every job starts with one question: who’s buying the metal? Either answer works.
Already have coil from Elevate, your supplier or your own yard? We bring a New Tech SSQ II roll former, an operator and the tooling, and form panels to your cut list on site.
Need the metal too? We stock 24 gauge painted coil in PVDF and SMP — every color on our chart — and form the panels on your job.
Panels and trim from the same coil run so the color lines up. Draw your trim to the inch in the Panel & Trim Calculator.
Why on site
When the runs are too long to truck, the roll former comes to the roof instead.
Panels run one piece from eave to ridge, so there are no endlaps to leak later.
Every panel is cut to the run measured on the roof, not to a number written down weeks ago.
Nothing to ship, stage or bend on a trailer. On a telehandler, the machine feeds panels right onto the deck.
Tooling catalog
Our New Tech Machinery SSQ II roll formers carry these profile sets, and we form McElroy’s Trap-Tee on site too. Every seam below is drawn to the same scale.
1" mechanically seamed
Low, crisp seam line, closed on the roof with a mechanical seamer.
Mechanically seamed
A step up in seam height for commercial roofs and lower slopes.
Mechanically seamed
Our tallest SSQ II seam, for low-slope commercial roofs.
Snap-lock
A 1.5" tall, ¼" wide seam that presses together by hand. No seamer pass.
Snap-lock
A taller, wider (7/16") snap seam for a bolder rib line.
Snap-lock
Also called nail strip. Screws straight to the deck through a slotted flange, with no clips.
Flush
Flat face with a clean reveal for soffit, wall or underdeck. Perforated for vented soffit on request (dashed face).
McElroy Metal · mechanically seamed
Symmetrical panel with a sealed T-cap. Any single panel can be pulled and replaced later.
Hot pot
Our hot pot melts butyl mastic and injects a continuous bead into the female leg as each panel comes off the roll former. The seam is sealed eave to ridge before the panel reaches the roof, with the same bead size and placement on every panel.
Thermally applied in-seam sealant is what manufacturers call for on many low-slope and extended weathertight warranty jobs, and it keeps the sealant inside the assembly, protected from sun and standing water. Butyl stays flexible, so the seam keeps its seal as panels expand and contract.
Tell us which warranty you’re after and we’ll confirm the sealant spec with the manufacturer before we run.
Elevate projects
We roll form for Elevate and make panels that can be used with Elevate’s NDL (no dollar limit) warranties.
Send the Elevate spec with your quote request. We’ll line up the profile, gauge and seam sealant with your Elevate rep before the machine shows up.

FAQ
Straight answers to what contractors ask the desk most.
On-site roll forming means the roll former comes to your job. Standing seam panels are formed from coil right at the building and cut to the exact length of each run.
Panels can go on in one continuous piece from eave to ridge, so there are no endlaps and no long panels to ship.
Yes. We roll form customer-supplied coil, including coil bought from Elevate or another supplier. If you need the metal too, we supply 24 gauge painted coil in PVDF and SMP and can fabricate matching trim.
On our New Tech Machinery SSQ II roll formers we run SS100 (1" mechanically seamed), SS150 (1.5" mechanically seamed), SSQ200 (2" mechanically seamed), SS450 (1.5" snap-lock), SSQ675 (1.75" snap-lock), FF100 (1" fastener flange) and FWQ100 (1" flush wall and soffit, with optional perforation). We also form McElroy Trap-Tee on site.
Mechanically seamed panels are closed on the roof with a seamer and are the usual choice for lower slopes and higher wind ratings. Snap-lock panels press together by hand and install faster.
The right pick depends on roof slope, wind requirements and the warranty you need. Tell us those and we’ll recommend a profile.
Yes. We roll form for Elevate and make panels that can be used with Elevate’s NDL (no dollar limit) warranties. Send the Elevate spec with your quote request and we’ll line up the profile, gauge and seam sealant with your Elevate rep before the job.
A hot pot is a heated sealant applicator on the roll former. Ours melts butyl mastic and injects a continuous bead into the female leg of each panel as it is formed, so the seam is sealed eave to ridge before the panel reaches the roof.
Thermally applied in-seam sealant is commonly called for on low-slope and extended weathertight warranty jobs.
